IPC - Tories make their intentions clear

I see that there are some press reports today that the Tories have issued a statement making clear (again) their intentions to abolish the IPC. They will retain national policy statements but these would have to be ratified by Parliament. We'd welcome readers thoughts on IPC and whether it should be given more of a chance to prove itself.
